Created with the Stratasys J850 PolyJet printer, this marking tool leverages advanced additive manufacturing capabilities, incorporating form, colour, translucency, hardness, and surface texture to express my unique design intent. The soft, rubber-like material offers a pleasant tactile experience, allowing users to enjoy their favourite pencil comfortably until it can no longer be sharpened. Inspired by Mediterranean cultures, the sleek design of the Hextender #2 Classic transforms a dull pencil into a stylish and functional accessory.
Accompanying the pencil extender is a vase-like case, designed for display, storage, or promotion, produced using the FDM process. This method allows for a cost-effective, large, and recyclable 3D-printed case that complements the extender's aesthetic. The combination of these elements showcases an understanding of design processes and the ability to create practical, user-friendly tools that integrate seamlessly into everyday life.
